Mangiabarche Lighthouse
The guardian of the sea
Situated on an outcropping rock off the coast, the Mangiabarche Lighthouse has been defying the force of nature for over a century. Its name evokes the danger of this stretch of sea, dotted with rocks that once “devoured” boats. Today it is the silent icon of our coastline, a magnetic and stunning place, especially when waves crash against its solitary structure.

Spiaggia Grande Tonnara
Just 800 meters from the hotel, this now-abandoned structure preserves the soul of Calasetta’s connection to bluefin tuna. Although entry is prohibited, getting there on foot along the cliffs offers a view that’s well worth it.

Arco dei Baci
At Is Praneddas, on the western coast of Sant’Antioco, a natural rock arch opens onto the blue at one of the island’s most striking spots. To reach it, follow a path through Mediterranean scrubland and cliffs, with an arrival that rewards every step.

Sant'Antioco Lagoon
The Sant’Antioco Lagoon, together with the nearby Santa Caterina area, is one of the most fascinating environments for observing pink flamingos. Among mirrors of water, light and silence, it offers a close encounter with the most natural and peaceful side of the island.

Nido dei Passeri
Nido dei Passeri is a dark, wind-beaten cliff overlooking the sea in front of Calasetta. From here you can clearly see the Mangiabarche Lighthouse and, with a little attention, also the Eleonora’s falcon moving along the coast. A viewpoint not to be missed.

Forts and Towers
From the Savoyard Tower in the heart of Calasetta to Torre Canai along the coast southeast of the island, these structures tell the story of the island’s defensive history and open views onto beautiful scenery. They are perfect stops to combine a panoramic walk with the pleasure of discovering the area at a leisurely pace.

Porto Flavia
Porto Flavia is one of the most remarkable works of mining archaeology in Sardinia, carved into the rock facing the Pan di Zucchero sea stack. The visit leads through tunnels suspended over the sea and tells, in spectacular fashion, the ingenuity and mining heritage of Sulcis-Iglesiente.

Santa Barbara Mining Trail
The Santa Barbara Trail crosses Sulcis-Iglesiente following ancient mining routes, through tunnels, forests and coastal stretches. You don’t need to walk it all: just choose a section to understand how the landscape changes and how deeply it’s connected to the history of these lands.
